Head Start Preschool and Child Care Program

What is Head Start?

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program which serves children age 3 to 5 and their families. Individualized services are provided in the areas of early childhood education and development; medical, dental and mental health, nutrition and parent involvement.

TRI-CAP Head Start is funded to serve 193 age and income eligible preschool children and their families. These children are served in 5 centers (Jasper, Petersburg, Boonville, Newburgh, and Tennyson) and offer a variety of program models in order to meet family needs.

If you are interested in signing your child up for Head Start, you may view and print the 2013-2014 Head Start Application.  You may also pick up an application from any of our sites listed here. To view the 2013-2014 application in Spanish, please click 2013-2014 Head Start Spanish Application.  If you live in Tennyson, you may pick up an application at either the Boonville or Newburgh office. You may also call any of the offices and we can mail you an application. We accept applications all year, so be sure to get yours in!

TRI-CAP participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for meal reimbursement. Children receive breakfast and/or lunch and snacks each day the classrooms are in session.
